On First Wednesday, March 7th, 2012, come visit the Downtown Creative District (Commercial St between Court and Chemeketa) and create on our window poetry walls! Craft a poem, take a picture and post it to the Downtown Creative District facebook page (or tag your submission on facebook with @downtowncreativedistrict) for a chance to win! The Downtown Creative District was formed by a group of Commercial Street business owners who noticed the many art opportunities available in downtown Salem. We grouped together to create a coordinated marketing plan to increase the awareness of the many art and cultural activities offered year-round in our community including classes, events, demonstrations, exhibits and more. It is our intention to attract and enhance the downtown area with art and culture in our urban area.
